DIRECTV's removal of the newsmix channel
I found today [ 11-28-**** ] that Directv removed the newsmix channel. There was no notice or explanation given.
This action is arrogant and unprofessional at the very least. This feature in the programming purchased is invaluable. Why has this action been taken??? Does Directv have so little reguard for thier consumers???
If this action is about money, how cynical!!! Apparently, another review of AT&T and DISH Networks doesn't concern Directv. All giants fall.
Explanations are needed and options offered, that's not asking too much. Remember, the dinosuars thought they were forever....look ahead Directv, the " the web" stands in your myopic way.

The newsmix was the primary reason for picking Directv over others but if is no longer available why would I stick with this Company. I certainly would not keep them for their customer service person who did not have a clue as to what the newsmix channel was except to say it wasn't in my package.
These guys may well go the way of Netflix. DirecTV can be easily replaced.
I'm furious over the loss of news mix.
I want DirecTV to know that I am researching what my next step is going to be, in regards to choosing another provider.
I'm also going to call in the morning to lodge a verbal complaint.
News Mix was one of my favorite stations. I have 2 TV's, side-by-side, with seperate satellite boxes. I have a DVD recorder set up with one of the TV's.
When I wanted to record something specific, and not knowing exactly what time it would show up, what I would do is, watch the newsMix station on the first TV, and because there was about a 4 second delay from the image on the Mix station, before it showed up- on the full-screen on the next TV. I never had to waste disc space on the DVD.
i think the fact that commercials can be ignored easier with the news mix, the people who pay too much for the commercials are getting their wish.
I have been a customer of Directv for over a decade, and I am tired of their complete disregard for their customers. I have emailed and written letters to the Office of the President.
When you do that, all you get is a phone call. I was told personally by an account manager that Ellen Filipiak DOES NOT TALK TO CUSTOMERS!!!! I have a petition going about how horrible they are as a company. And don't think going to another company solves the problem-word is there is going to be a merger of some sort with another company.
There was a class action suit a few years ago, but still nothing has change.

We will be saying good bye to Direct TV when our contract is up...hidden fees (20.00 a month box fee for HD that we were NOT told about when we got the service) , channels unavailable, slowest TV remove and box I have even seen. I hate it!
Now no News Mix. The customer service is HORRIBLE they do not care or give a rats tush about their customers.
To bad we are in a contract, Never again! What a waste of money Direct TV is!
I just called Direct tv and complained.. Lot of good it will do.
I'm seriously thinking about going to U-verse, or my local cable company. That news mix was my favorite channel. They continue to raise their prices on us and then they take away the programing that we really enjoy.
I'm ticked!! I'm not going to just sit back on this one!
What's funny is going to Att uverse, gets you right back with dtv AT&T is buying them.

If every single person that has direct TV would unplug the phone line from their box(s). There would be such a loss of marketing/tracking data, they would no longer have any clue as what to people are actually watching.
That phone line is the only way to know for sure what your doing, and to be able to bill for ppv. So suck it up ppv users! Unplug the phone line from your directv box! For those that don't use ppv....
your phone line is just allowing them to gain tons of "free" marketing data.
That information alone is worth more than what you pay them on your monthly bill. Wait and see what happens when direct can't explain to the major networks why they don't have their ratings data......
Now they closed the dtv forum and when I phoned to complain they gave me a snail mail address. Anyone have any other ideas for slamming them. I am giving 10 days to resume Newsmix and then I'm cancelling dtv.
One of the best things to do in the morning is go through the news mix channels with a cup of coffee before work, now DTV took the very best channel for us that like to see the new across the nation and world and then the weather all done very quickly without having to surf all over the place, DTV needs to bring this back or they will start loosing costomers right and left, all my freinds are saying the same thing. TAKE A HINT DTV-BRING THIS BACK!!!!!

Iโm guessing this must be about profits, it always is, although itโs hard to see how one channel could do much for the bottom line. And, of all channels to mess with, they choose the โnews mixโ channelโฆ Really?! Because news mix viewers arenโt committed, conscientious, internet media savvy, type A folks that will put up much of a stink about a move like this?

Directv does not give a *** what customers want!!! They will keep taking channels untill we have only a few left and will still charge full price.
I called and got $20 off my bill for 12 months. I am still upset that we lost NewsMix, we would keep it on in the kitchen all day.
Directv is now ranked highest among dissatisfied customers, meaning Dish is looking all the better.
This infuriates me like no other move directv has ever made.
